Northeast Clean Power Enrollment Terms and Conditions

Effective January 1, 2016

3Degrees Group, Inc., (“3Degrees”) provides the delivery and generation service customers of United Illuminating (UI) and Connecticut Light and Power (CL&P) the opportunity to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (“RECs”) to own the environmental benefits associated with the generation of electricity from certain renewable energy facilities, through the Northeast Clean Power Program. The RECs purchased pursuant to this Northeast Clean Power Enrollment Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) are created following the delivery of electricity generated from renewable resources to the electrical grid.

The Northeast Clean Power program has been chosen to be one of the official offerings of the CTCleanEnergyOptionsSMprogram, and is regulated by the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (“PURA”).

When you enroll in the Northeast Clean Power program you pay a small monthly fee that supports the production of clean power from renewable electricity facilities.  You will remain a customer with your current electric distribution company. Your electricity will continue to be delivered via UI's or CL&P’s distribution network, and UI or CL&P will continue to send you your monthly bill and provide energy-related emergency response.  Enrolling in the Northeast Clean Power program does not interfere with your pre-existing electric service from UI, CL&P, or alternate electric supplier if you have chosen one, and all costs associated with your purchase under this Agreement are in addition to your standard rates for delivery and generation services.

Renewable Energy Annual Delivery Arrangements

After you enroll in the Northeast Clean Power program, 3Degrees will arrange for the delivery of RECs which meet the requirements for certification as Class I New England RECs (“New England Renewable Energy”) or Regional RECs (“Northeast Regional Renewable Energy”) under Connecticut law as embodied in Conn. Gen. Stat. §16-1(a)(26).  Over the course of any calendar year for which you are enrolled, RECs generated during that calendar year or the six month prior to that calendar year will be delivered on your behalf to fully equal the total number of RECs that you purchased.

Participants will be sent an annual electronic report that specifies the exact resource mix (e.g. wind, solar, etc.) that was purchased over the course of the preceding year as well as the prospective mix for the coming year.  These annual reports will also be made available on the Northeast Clean Power website at www.northeastcleanpower.com. Participants also agree to receive additional electronic materials regarding Northeast Clean Power via email, and may opt out of receiving non-mandatory material.

Billing and Payment

Your renewable energy charge will appear as an additional line item on your electric bill. You agree to pay the additional renewable energy charge shown in the Prospective Product Content Mix below for the product you purchase:
